It’s great to bike with friends but sometimes doing it alone has its advantages. For instance, on Friday I rode my fix to therapy for the first time! I even scheduled my appointment for later than usual so I wouldn’t have to ride in rush hour traffic. Feeling invigorated and pumped up after, I couldn’t wait for Saturday to come! Not planning anything out of the ordinary for myself, I went on my usual routine which is to ride 10 miles to my old neighborhood and shoot hoops with my nephew. A friend of mine also met me there. After about 90 minutes of running back and forth I decided to go to another playground a few blocks away. Since no one was there, I decided to keep going. I rode down Linden Blvd. to Rockaway Blvd. Not having a destination gave me freedom to go anywhere! Rockaway to Liberty. Liberty to Mother Gaston. When I got to Fulton St I stopped and called my friend from the park who happened to live nearby. He was incredulous about me riding “that far” as he put it. Anyway, Down Fulton to Albee Square Mall. From there across the Brooklyn Bridge into the city. Now I ride uptown to the Village and hang out in Washington Square Park for a while. Now it’s getting dark so I go to the Westside and take the scenic route back downtown. Took pics of WTC footprints and finally, on the subway to go back out to Queens. Believe or not, I still had another 8 miles to go from the subway. All in all, it was a beautiful trip and I thank the Lord above for giving me the strength to be able to do these things! These things that I do are not amazing. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! Peace and blessings!
