South!

Been down here deep in the heart of Louisiana since the end of September. Even though I was born in New Orleans, this is the longest time I’ve been here in my adult life. Life in the Deep South is light years different from NYC! I love it but there are a few things to get used to. First of all, if you don’t have a vehicle you can forget about walking anywhere! I mean, even if you have a car be prepared to pack a lunch because most of the time any appointments are at least a couple of hours away! I’m not making light at life here… it’s just different for someone who lived most of their life in one of the most densely populated cities in the U.S. I miss my bike though. I didn’t want to bring it with me for there’s really no safe roads to ride on where I am. Be that as it may God got my back! I will be returning to the Big Apple next month to continue my therapy for cancer. I was getting ready to order another bike but changed my mind because I already have one in New York. And again, the roads where I am are not conducive for biking. The old saying “you never know how much you miss something until it’s gone” is so true now. I can’t walk around the corner and get on a bus to the subway. There ARE no subways or even local buses for that matter! Been doing a lot of walking though. This is what tempts me to get a bike. I could see and do so much more with a bicycle. No worries. I will be back soon. Peace and blessings!
