Wow!

Wow! It finally happened! Rode my bike in to my cancer therapy appointment yesterday. Locked it up as usual on the scaffolding almost directly in front. My appointment was early… 7am. My second day in a row spending at least 8hrs there! Around 30 miles round trip! Sometimes I take my bike on the subway (it’s only 18 lbs) I do usually 15-20 miles a day. Came out after another long appointment expecting to unlock my bike and ride! My bike was gone! Lock and all! The thief took apart the scaffolding and slid my bike away! I was crushed! Police report, security blah, blah, blah! I am WITHOUT BIKE! Walking to the subway with my bike gear on felt funny. As I was about to cross to subway I noticed a man sitting on the corner. He was crying! I hadn’t read his sign but I asked him what was wrong and are you okay! The sign read… “assaulted, backpack and phone taken! Hungry!” So I had 5 dollars on me and gave him 4! I asked him his name and he said Mike! I said “Mike… I have the same name! Listen… you have to realize one thing… you are still here and no matter whatever, you are still here for a reason! Hold your head up and know that you can get those things again!” He stopped crying and said thanks Mike… I appreciate your help! This just goes to show that no matter whatever happens to YOU, you can always take time to help someone else! All God’s children do! Peace and blessings!
