there are those
who believe
that life is finite
but when you believe
in God you know
the infinite
while circumstances
around me are
in ultimate chaos
i am buoyed
by the fact
that i belong to Him
in this i am sure
throughout the maelstrom
which is my life
i constantly bend
but through His grace
i will never break!
the dark clouds
surround me
threats within and
without my life
assail me
but my belief in God
brings peace to me
i bend but i don’t break
others wonder how
i can be so happy
others wonder what
i have that
brings me peace
i know and won’t
let the circumstances
surrounding me
affect my happiness
i bend but i don’t break!
i have realized
the ultimate strength
that state of mind
whereas i know
that i will never break!
my faith in the Almighty!
