LONELINESS

The loneliness of this world is felt,
No matter whatever cards are dealt.
We grow old and try retrieving,
The youth that was with true believing.

We chase the echoes of laughter’s song,
Wondering where it’s been so long.
Through memory’s door our hearts still creep,
To guard the warmth our souls must keep.

That time of year when blessings be,
The hopes and dreams of being free.
Allow the pangs of stress and strife,
Shape and strengthen this thing called life.

Though shadows fall and spirits tire,
Faith rekindles the fading fire.
In quiet moments, when all seems lost,
Love reminds us what life has cost.

So take each breath as heaven’s loan,
A gift to shape, though not our own.
Through pain and joy, both hand in hand,
We walk the path that God has planned.

Give into precepts that keep the truth,
Things we learned from fledgling youth.
These lives we live belong not to us,
That’s when we know in God to trust!

Peace and blessings!
