{"id":1300,"date":"2019-06-29T15:40:48","date_gmt":"2019-06-29T19:40:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/walkingdeadman.com\/?p=1300"},"modified":"2019-06-29T15:40:48","modified_gmt":"2019-06-29T19:40:48","slug":"1461-four-years-later","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/walkingdeadman.com\/index.php\/2019\/06\/29\/1461-four-years-later\/","title":{"rendered":"1461! (four years later!)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Four years ago and basically the end of my life! That\u2019s what I found in my heart and soul! My Doctor has just dropped the proverbial bomb upon me! \u201cMr. Simien&#8230; you have stage IV lung cancer and I think you need to get your affairs in order!\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;Wow! What a way to start the summer, cancer! My doctor didn\u2019t give me a time frame however, he didn\u2019t have to. I know how to read between the lines so to speak. Anyway&#8230; damn! What the hell am I going to do? With tears in my eyes, I took the extremely long walk back to the house. It didn\u2019t seem this long on the way there! But by the time I got home my tears were no more! I remembered who really has the final word! Jesus Christ!The next few weeks were really hard and sleepless. I didn\u2019t even know what chemo therapy was but I agreed to it. After the first three sessions of chemo I was like&#8230; \u201coh, okay&#8230; this isn\u2019t the nightmare I thought it would be!\u201d After that, the poison had built up in me and a landslide of side effects exploded. It was really a rough time in my life but God got me through it! After eight months of chemo my doctor put me on immunotherapy and this is where I am now. There is an ironic turn to my story that bugs me to no end! My life has changed, there\u2019s no question about that. Most of the circumstances surrounding my life are still chaotic to say the least! But the level of peace and happiness in my life now is unparalleled! So should I consider cancer a blessing in disguise? I don\u2019t know. All I do know is that my faith and belief in the Creator has given me the strength to persevere! Gives me the strength to ride my bike every I go! Gives me the strength to play basketball! Thank you so much Jesus! Thank you for saving and healing me! He does this for me&#8230; He will do it for you! Keep in faith!
