Just another day in my life!

Saturday, March 24, 2018. I jump on my fix and decide to ride to Manhattan. You know, sometimes I forget my age. I’ll act like I’m 43 instead of realizing I’m 63! I haven’t really done any riding this week because of the weather, so since  it’s a good day to ride, I ride. This will make my first ride on Queens Blvd. in a long time. By the time I get to the 59th Street Bridge I’m a little tired. That’s a 17 mile trip from where I live. It’s about 3pm and the sun is shining brightly. One thing you have to remember about weather in the city vs the weather in the outer boroughs is that city weather is much colder. That’s because how the buildings block out much of the sunlight. Anyway, I had a beautiful time riding. No taxis cut me off today. No incidents at all. As I was preparing to ride downtown the wind picked up mightily. Since I wasn’t really prepared for the wind chill, I decided to jump on the subway to get back out to Queens. Big mistake. The subway ride was actually took longer than if I had rode my bike back! That subway trip was the worst. At least when it was over the sun was still up. And it felt a little warmer now that I was out of Manhattan. You know, I just thank God for healing me and enabling me to push myself further. Being diagnosed with cancer is no joke and extremely hard to deal with day to day. My faith has eased my concerns. I will live my life without worries. God has taken care of that! Peace and blessings!
